On Saturday 13 June, the Martigny Cheese Dairy opened its doors wide to the public for a day dedicated to conviviality, discovery and sharing. Bathed in glorious summer sunshine, the day attracted numerous visitors who came to take a look behind the scenes at their local cheese dairy and enjoy a warm, friendly time with family or friends. The programme included guided tours of the cheese dairy, allowing visitors to discover the various stages involved in making our specialities. The raclette tasting was, of course, a huge success, giving everyone the chance to appreciate the expertise of our producers and cheesemakers. Throughout the day, musical entertainment created a festive and convivial atmosphere. We would like to extend our sincerest thanks to Les Tambours d’Octodure for their remarkable performance, to the Brass Band led by Frédéric Voutaz for the quality of their performance, and to DJ Boulot, who provided the musical entertainment throughout the day and helped to create a friendly and festive atmosphere. Their commitment and enthusiasm played a major part in the success of this event. The younger visitors were not left out, with a bouncy castle and a face-painting workshop that delighted them and added to the fun of this wonderful day of celebration. One of the highlights of the event was the presence of the cheese dairy’s staff and milk producers, who enthusiastically took part in the cheese-scraping demonstration. It was a unique opportunity for visitors to share a special moment with those who work every day to ensure the quality of our products. This open day will be remembered for the many encounters, the enriching conversations and the good humour that prevailed from start to finish. There was a real sense of camaraderie, joy and the pleasure of coming together around the values that are the strength of our region. A huge thank you to all the staff, producers, volunteers and partners who contributed to the success of this event. Thank you also to all the visitors for their presence, their enthusiasm and their many smiles, which made this day a real success.
We look forward to seeing you at our upcoming events so we can continue to share our passion for cheese and the Valais region together!
